This might seem a little crazy as I could just pop into the salon and mix up the special cocktail of colours that usually covers my roots. Messy but not impossible! I’ve decided not to do it though! We’re asking our clients to resist the temptation of box dye during this time so I’m doing it with them!
In the early days there was lots of bad advice in the media regarding home hair colours and cuts during lockdown and we’ll understand if you succumb. We just ask that you bear in mind that lots can go wrong with colouring your own hair with supermarket box dyes. Your hair can go too dark; too yellow; break, the list goes on.
A bigger root is easy to fix. We can simply apply your usual colour, freshen up the ends if necessary and the job will be done!
A correction which is what a box colour will cause can take 2 or 3 appointments to get back to where you were! If the colour you choose doesn’t match it can leave a horizontal stripe across your hair, which won’t be easy to blend.
I dread to think how bad my roots will be when we’re allowed to go back to work. I’m actually very interested to see how silver I am! My mum has the most beautiful natural colour and I’m hoping mine will eventually be the same! I’m not ready for that just yet though! Those roots will most definitely be getting covered back up.
