Over the last few months Covid-19 has changed our lives beyond recognition and will certainly alter your in-salon experience at the John & Associates Barber Shop. In my salon I have always ensured the team deliver a high level of customer service and that ethos will remain strong when we re-open.

I know demand will be high and myself and the team can’t wait to welcome you all back. However Covid-19 will not disappear overnight and safety has to be our overriding concern.

Face masks, face shields, disposable aprons, gloves, disposable towels, are all available to be used where appropriate. A number of important measures will be introduced to maintain social distancing.

Appointments

Bookings will be taken by phone or email only and we will not be accepting walk-ins for the foreseeable future. Our Barber Shop will operate with a locked door policy so there will be no access without an appointment, therefore creating a safe space for your haircut. We have extended our appointment times to allow for disinfection processes between services.

Arrival Time

Please arrive at the specified time for your appointment, there will be no waiting area if you are early and please be mindful that if you are late you will be holding up later appointments.

Personal Belongings

Please keep personal belongings to a minimum. Any items that you do bring along will be placed in to a sealed bag for the duration of your time in the salon.

Please attend alone

Please only bring someone along to your appointment if they also have an appointment. Whilst we welcome children into the salon for their haircuts they will be required to remain under control and with you at all times. We may have vulnerable clients in the salon who have chosen to visit us and we must ensure they do not feel concerned or put at risk. We will have accounted for the number of people in the salon based on space. We will not be able to accommodate extra people that we haven’t accounted for.

Hand Washing

You will be required to wash your hands on arrival at the salon. Our hand washing facilities are as you enter the salon and are contactless, there is a sensor for the light, an infra-red tap and soap dispenser and a contactless air hand dryer. This has been done so that you can wash your hands without having to touch anything prior to doing so. Hand sanitising gel & tissues will be available in the Barber Shop should you require them.

Accessing the Barber Shop

Access for all clients will be via reception. Once you have washed your hands please make your way through to the barber shop via the passageway at the left hand side of the reception desk.

No dry cuts

As Covid-19 can live on hair we will not be carrying out any dry cuts. Your hair will be shampooed by your barber prior to your cut. For pre-school age children please bring them to their appointment with freshly washed hair.

Equipment

Be assured that all of our tools and equipment are sterilised after each use in preparation for our next client. We have a medical autoclave for sterilising our metal tools and use Barbicide for all our surfaces and other equipment.

Hygiene Packs

Every client will have access to hygiene packs containing a fresh gown, disposable towel, facemask and a bag for storing any personal belongings. Children under the age of 2 will not be required to wear a mask as per government guidlelines.

1-2-1 Service

Your appointment will be solely with one member of our team.

Entire Household Appointments

If you wish to reduce the number of people the members of your household come into close contact with in-salon entire household appointments can be booked with one stylist. All of our stylists are multi-skilled and can carry out ladies hairdressing services as well as barbering and children’s haircuts.

Isolation Appointments

If you are in the vulnerable or shielding groups total isolation appointments are available. Please phone for availability.

I hope all of the above helps reassure you that you’ll be in safe hands when we next see you. We’re looking forward to seeing you again and want your visit to be as safe as possible. Unfortunately there will be an increase in prices to reflect our additional safety measures; this will be reviewed once these measures are no longer necessary.

Cashless Payments

To protect you and our team as much as possible, we will not be accepting cash payments when we re-open. Payment can be made by card either using chip and pin, or contactless where possible.
